Accountable public records
Corrections and retractions
The public record should show when material is corrected, superseded, or retracted without silently replacing its history.
Correction and retraction process
- Identify the exact public statement and originating source.
- Preserve the challenge without republishing unsafe material.
- Review the source, wording, date, and current status independently.
- Mark a correction, supersession, or retraction visibly.
