Accountable public records

Corrections and retractions

The public record should show when material is corrected, superseded, or retracted without silently replacing its history.

Correction and retraction process

  1. Identify the exact public statement and originating source.
  2. Preserve the challenge without republishing unsafe material.
  3. Review the source, wording, date, and current status independently.
  4. Mark a correction, supersession, or retraction visibly.
